Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Massage Therapist with a focus on maternal and pediatric care, while also providing general massage services, to join our wellness team.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping expectant and new mothers, infants, children, and general clients achieve relaxation and relief from tension through therapeutic massage techniques. This role requires excellent customer service skills, effective communication with clients and families, and a strong understanding of both specialized and general care to ensure the highest level of support.
Responsibilities
• Provide professional massage therapy services tailored to individual client needs, including maternal, pediatric, and general massage care.
• Assess clients' physical conditions, including pregnancy stage, postpartum recovery, child-specific needs, or general health, and discuss massage preferences and health history.
• Utilize a range of massage techniques, including prenatal, postpartum, pediatric, Swedish, deep tissue, and sports massage, while adapting approaches for maternal, pediatric, and general comfort and safety.
• Maintain a clean and organized treatment area, adhering to hygiene and safety standards.
• Document client sessions accurately, including treatment plans and progress notes.
• Educate clients and families on the benefits of massage therapy for their specific needs and recommend follow-up treatments as necessary.
• Foster a welcoming, calming environment that promotes relaxation and comfort for all clients, including expectant mothers, children, and general clients.
Experience
• Proven experience as a Massage Therapist, with a preference for those with experience in maternal and pediatric massage.
• Certification from an accredited massage therapy program is required.
• Specialized training in prenatal, postpartum, and pediatric massage is highly preferred, but general massage experience is also valued.
• Strong knowledge of various massage techniques and their specific applications for maternal, pediatric, and general care.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, particularly mothers, families, and general clientele.
• Familiarity with pregnancy, postpartum health concerns, child development, and general wellness is a plus.
