Transfer Students

Some students decide that they would like to transfer to Sutherland-Chan after having completed part of a massage therapy program at another school. We are open to accepting transfer students, provided the conditions are good for a successful transition. We consider these applications on a case-by-case basis.

Students interested in transferring to our school must supply us with the following documents related to their massage school history:

• a transcript
• a syllabus outlining the material and number of hours completed

The Registrar will conduct a PLA (Prior Learning Assessment) to assess the educational background of each transfer applicant. For more information about the PLA process and applicable fees, please click here.

In addition transfer students must provide documentation of successful completion of the following:

• An Ontario Secondary School Diploma, its equivalent or higher (ie. two year college diploma or four year university degree)*
• Grade 12 English**
• A recent police record check
• Vaccinations: All students entering into the program must submit a vaccination form completed by a physician or delegated health care professional (form to be provided) which demonstrates immunity to measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), chicken pox and a negative two-step tuberculosis (PPD) test.

All transfer students will have an interview with the Director of Admissions.

*Applicants who do not have a high school diploma or equivalent or cannot provide any documentation must write the CAAT.
